Trilby Misso principal lawyer and executive director Lisa Rennie has taken over the firm's leadership from CEO Graeme McFadyen, following his appointment as Slater & Gordon's general manager (private clients and family law).

Joining Trilby Misso in mid-2004, Rennie will take on the new role of general manager, effective from 1 July this year.

Prior to her latest appointment, Rennie was Trilby Misso's best practice advisor and was appointed as an executive director of the firm in August 2010.

"It's something that I've certainly been interested in, having been a lawyer for so long. At Trilby Misso I've always enjoyed the opportunity to look at the business side of things," said Rennie, who gained a Bachelor of Business at Queensland University of Technology before deciding to become a lawyer.

"The key priority will be to maintain the culture and the values that have been developed mainly over the last five years," said Rennie. "I know the people here and I understand the business having worked in it as well. I hope that as a leader I can understand more what the people are facing."

As general manager Rennie will continue her work as a personal injuries lawyer, managing a small portfolio.

"I think it keeps you current as well and you can understand what's going on in the business," she explained.

"It's an exciting new challenge. I think it would be an exciting role in any organisation but I'm very grateful to have it here in such a great team."
