Jackpot-winning lawyer not hanging around the office

A Canadian lawyer who won $35,164,526 in the lottery last month has taken a year-long break from her senior associate job at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Andrea Campbell and her boyfriend Trevor Thompson from Toronto won LOTTO 6/49 on January 17.

Folklaw can only imagine the simmering jealousy, disguised by congratulatory smiles, that must have trailed Andrea around the office.

It is no wonder NRF has pulled Andrea’s profile from their website. Folklaw doubts the law can compete with round-the-world trips and perpetual partying.

Folklaw wouldn't be surprised if legal training came in handy for the lucky couple, who have been ushered into the alumni of the blessed and the cursed that are lottery winners past.

History is stained with the ironic stories of overnight millionaires burning through money and succumbing to poverty. It seems the best way to keep your good fortune after winning the lottery is to hire top-quality legal professionals and accountants to sensibly manage your ballooning wealth.

And with these pearls of wisdom, Folklaw wishes you all the best, Andrea!
