Richard Brockett has joined the firm as an associate director, bringing with him a background in commercial law and M&A transactions. Throughout his career, he has advised clients across multiple industries, including mining, oil and gas, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure.

Mr Brockett takes up his new role at Moulis Legal after departing international law firm Ashurst. Prior to Ashurst, Mr Brockett worked in-house at a Japanese trading company in its Tokyo office.

“Richard’s appointment underlines our commitment to providing the best commercial + international legal service to our clients. He is hugely experienced in corporate transactions, at the highest level,” said Moulis Legal partner director Daniel Moulis.

“His appointment gives us full service capabilities in the areas in which we excel – trade, cross-border, intellectual property and commercial investment.”

Mr Brockett credited Moulis Legal's staff and reputation as the reason behind his decision to join the firm.

“Moulis Legal and its team of inspirational partners and lawyers has an exceptional reputation within the Australian and international legal services market,” he said.

“This reputation has very recently been acknowledged by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific. This is because the team focuses on developing and maintaining its expertise, being thought leaders in the market and always providing outstanding client service.

“My experience in the energy and resources sector, managing large corporate transactions and commercial contracting, deepens the expertise and the services we can provide to our clients. I am very much looking forward to working with the Moulis Legal team and assisting the firm’s great clients achieve the best outcomes for their businesses.”
