Effective 1 September, Baybridge has acquired Dynamite Partners. The move sees partners Racha Abboud, Rita Khodeir, and seasoned paralegal Scott Patterson join Baybridge.

Together the trio have worked as a team for almost two decades and are highly engaged in the franchising sector.

Ms Abboud will specialise in commercial matters at her new firm. Throughout her career she has worked extensively with clients based in Australia and internationally, in industries including food and retail, fitness, pharmacy, automotive, and real estate.

Ms Khodeir, who will cover Baybridge's litigation and intellectual property matters, is a registered trademarks attorney. She's described as an experienced commercial litigator, holding extensive experience in litigation.

Meanwhile, Mr Patterson has valued experience in commercial and franchising law, having worked with both start-up and established networks throughout his career.

Commenting on the acquisition and corresponding appoints, Baybridge founder and managing director Marwan Kojok said: “Our greatest asset has always been our people and by introducing this team, we have made a huge increase in the quality of that asset, making us one of the most well-resourced franchise-centric law firms in Australia.”

“The firm has embraced technology and talent outside of the law to ensure its success into the future. We have not seen a deterioration in franchise activity or new brands during this pandemic. In fact, we have had an extraordinary level of interest for our clients’ businesses as well as future brands to hit the market.

Now is no better time to ensure that we have the team to meet that demand.”

Also commenting on the move, Ms Abboud said:

“This is a very exciting event for us, for our team, and our clients."

“We have respected each other’s work for some decades now and there are synergies for the groups that will significantly benefit our respective clients.”

Ms Khodeir added: “The combination of front-end and expert dispute resolution expertise provides us with an ability to offer our clients a full-service solution for their growth plans.”

The Lawyers Weekly Legal Firm of Choice Survey is now open, giving legal professionals the opportunity to confidentially say what areas their firm is responding well to – and where they could improve.

The annual survey, which is partnered by Momentum Intelligence, also forms the basis for the Top 25 Attraction Firms ranking, identifying the firms legal professionals most want to work for.

The survey will close on 15 September.
