TRANS-TASMAN LAW firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, has announced the appointment of three new partners — Anna Rawlings, Graeme Crombie and Mark Sly. These appointments bring the total number of partners to 35.

Rawlings has 10 years’ experience and joined the firm’s national disputes resolution team in 2002.

She has appeared regularly in New Zealand’s courts, and is experienced in alternative dispute resolution processes including mediation. Rawlings advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious aspects of competition law and industry regulation, with an emphasis on consumer protection and marketing law. Based in the firm’s Auckland office, Rawlings will practise alongside five other national disputes resolution team members.

Crombie joined the firm in 1995, and has become an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer specialising in technology and telecommunications. He has over a decade’s experience providing advice on commercial contracts, company law, corporate structuring and privacy issues. Acting for clients in both the public and private sectors, Crombie has extensive experience in all forms of technology contracts, from software licensing to complex outsourcing arrangements.

An environmental law specialist, Sly has been with the firm since 1999. He has experience in the electricity, energy and telecommunications sectors, and a strong background in transport infrastructure issues. His previous work includes acting for clients seeking resource consents of significant scale and complexity, including wind, thermal and hydro-electric power scheme consenting, petrochemical refining, transmission and storage activities, service stations and cell-site rollout projects.
