Hazelbrook Legal, which won the 2023 Boutique Diversity Law Firm of the Year at last year’s Women in Law Awards, has appointed Rui Chen as a senior associate in its Sydney office.
Joining from Sparke Helmore, Chen is an experienced corporate lawyer with a particular focus on contentious matters, including complex disputes and advice. She also has experience in class action litigation and regulatory investigations.
The addition of Rui to the growing Hazelbrook team significantly strengthens the firm’s contentious practice as it moves towards a differentiated full-service corporate offering, according to managing partner Hugh Griffin.
“It is wonderful to be able to reunite with Rui, and to be able to attract someone as talented as she is to the team,” he said.
“She is an exceptional lawyer and great mentor to the team, and has deep expertise in contentious matters, as well as a track record in some of Australia’s most successful firms. We look forward to seeing our Litigation practice grow.”
