Molan, who spent the last 12 years at MinterEllison, including four as a special counsel, brings more than 15 years of experience advising corporate and government clients on complex employment and industrial relations matters, KHQ said in a statement.

His practice, the firm went on, spans employment litigation, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, workplace change projects, and strategic advice on compliance and risk, and his broad industry experience and calm, practical, solutions-oriented approach have made him sought after by major employers navigating high-stakes workplace issues.

The news follows the firm’s promotion of a special counsel to principal in January, its hiring of a family and relationships law principal in December, and its appointment of a superannuation and financial services principal in July.

Speaking about the appointment, KHQ director Chris Gianatti said: “Tom is an outstanding lawyer who brings sharp technical ability and sound judgment, particularly in contentious matters.

“We’re thrilled to have him on board. His arrival reflects our continued focus on growing a senior, hands-on team capable of delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.”

Molan said: “I am delighted to have joined the tier 1 workplace relations and safety team at KHQ Lawyers.

“I am looking forward to working with the team to help our clients navigate their most challenging employment and industrial relations issues.”
