Founded over a century ago, Aitken Partners has expanded beyond its Melbourne base with the establishment of its first office outside Victoria, located in Brisbane.

In a statement, the firm indicated that its Brisbane office will provide legal services across a range of practice areas, including commercial law, property, litigation, and family law.

Speaking on the opening of the firm’s second office, Alex Nicol, managing principal of Aitken Partners, said the expansion reflects the firm’s sustained growth and the strength of the Brisbane legal market.

“We’ve experienced consistent growth over the past few years, and our decision to open our Brisbane office is another important step,” Nicol said.

“The Brisbane legal market is flourishing, and we are excited about the opportunity to support our existing clients in Queensland as well as develop new relationships and ensure they receive the same level of service and expertise that our clients expect from Aitken Partners.”

Nicol emphasised that the expansion into Brisbane is “more than just opening a new office”; it reflects a “commitment to the communities we serve and ensuring we’re well positioned to meet the legal needs of our referrers and clients across the country”.

Aitken Partners’ Brisbane office will be staffed by a combination of longstanding team members and newly appointed professionals.

Senior associate Erin Prout, who has been with the firm for over a year, will be one of the key legal professionals based in Brisbane, bringing with her extensive experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

She will be joined by Aaron Stewart, who came on board in April and will serve as principal lawyer of the Brisbane office.
