Tarah Tosh and Kirstie Colls (both pictured), former heads of family law at Michael Lynch Family Lawyers, have launched Tosh Colls Family Law, a boutique firm dedicated exclusively to family law services.

The firm’s founders bring a combined total of over 40 years of experience in the legal profession and are both accredited specialists in family law.

In a statement, Tosh and Colls said their decision to establish their own firm was driven by a shared vision to provide legal services that “blend top-tier legal advice with accessible, transparent and compassionate service”.

Tosh has been practising law since 1999, with experience spanning Australia and the United Kingdom.

Accredited as a family law specialist since 2005, Tosh has a particular focus on parenting disputes, property settlements, spousal maintenance, child support, and financial agreements.

Colls has specialised in family law since the early 2000s and received her specialist accreditation in 2009.

The Brisbane-based law firm offers fixed pricing options and utilises a secure client portal – an initiative the firm said will “give clients better access to information and ongoing communication with their legal team”.

Tosh Colls Family Law is committed to supporting a diverse range of clients, including professionals, business owners, and individuals facing emotionally and financially complex family law issues.

“Our clients aren’t simply cases,” said Tosh.

“They’re people going through something difficult, and we want them to feel stronger by the end of their journey with us.”

Colls acknowledged the mentors and colleagues who have supported both her and Tosh throughout their legal careers and expressed a strong commitment to giving back to the profession through their new firm.

“We’ve both been lucky to work with brilliant lawyers and generous colleagues who shared their time and wisdom,” said Colls.

“We’re so grateful for their support and guidance – we wouldn’t be here without it. It is now our turn to give that back”.
