National firm HopgoodGanim Lawyers has appointed new partner Paige Edwards to lead its Brisbane-based estates and succession team.
Edwards commenced at the start of the week (8 September). The firm’s managing partner, Luke Mountford, said: “This marks an exciting new chapter for the private client team, and we look forward to welcoming Paige to the firm.”
With over a decade of experience across both boutique and full-service firms in estate planning, administration and litigation, Edwards has served as an accredited specialist in succession law, family trusts and superannuation.
Mountford said: “Her strong track record advising clients on complex estate matters aligns seamlessly with the values and direction of our estate and succession practice and wider private client sector strategy.”
She came to the firm as a former special counsel at McCullough Robertson. Mountford continued: “Paige’s deep technical expertise and practical approach make her an ideal fit for HopgoodGanim and our clients.”
In her new role, she will collaborate with the firm’s private clients team, rubbing shoulders with its co-leaders, Tim Scanlan and Geoff Wilson.
Wilson said: “Our private client offering is truly unique in the market, delivering a full range of services tailored specifically to the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families.”
“Paige’s expertise further strengthens our ability to provide practical, high-quality advice across estate planning, administration, and succession disputes, ensuring our clients receive comprehensive support every step of the way.”
This move followed the firm’s decision in late 2024 to merge with Butlers Lawyers and Notaries in Perth, a boutique family, wills and estates practice.
Over the past year, the firm saw: the promotion of 27 in August, the appointment of a workplace and employment partner in May, the acquisition of a partner and special counsel from HFW in April, and the acquisition of eight from Corrs Chambers Westgarth Brisbane in February.
