Sydney-based law firm Swaab has elevated six lawyers to more senior positions.
Last month, Swaab promoted Emma Nichelsen to special counsel, Julianne Conceicao and Kathryn Schultz to senior associate, and Alexander Leong, Emma Van Klaveren, and Molly Boland to associate.
The promotions were effective as of 1 July 2026.
In a statement, Swaab managing partner Mary Digiglio said: “I am delighted to announce the promotions of Emma Nichelsen, Julianne Conceicao, Kathryn Schultz, Alexander Leong, Emma Van Klaveren and Molly Boland.
“Their professionalism, insight and strong commitment to client care have been integral to the firm’s continued growth.

This time last year, Swaab also promoted six lawyers to more senior roles.
Recently, Swaab partner Michael Byrnes has spoken with Lawyers Weekly and its sister brand, HR Leader, about various employment law issues, including the legality of workplace dismissals based on conduct undertaken on reality TV show Married at First Sight, and how changes in news consumption and AI are presenting “substantial, and potentially insurmountable obstacles”.
