Queensland-based firm Travis Schultz & Partners has appointed a former partner of national practice Moray & Agnew as a special counsel in its Cairns office.
Gabrielle Watts (pictured) has joined the Cairns office of Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP) as a special counsel, bringing nearly two decades of experience in personal injury law.
She is, the firm said in a statement, recognised for her technical expertise, strong legal acumen and commitment to achieving fair outcomes for injured people and brings a depth of experience in navigating complex workers’ compensation, motor vehicle accident and public liability, in particular with historical institutional abuse claims.
Watts most recently served as a partner at BigLaw firm Moray & Agnew, having started at the firm as an associate in February 2012 before eventually being promoted to the partnership in July 2021.
Her appointment, the firm noted, further strengthens TSP’s commitment to ensuring Queenslanders have access to expert legal representation.
The news follows the firm’s promotion of four lawyers to more senior roles, as reported in June.
Speaking about her new role, Watts said: “I am driven when it comes to helping people achieve justice and fair compensation following injury.
“I am truly passionate about representing injured people and helping them navigate what can often be a difficult and stressful legal process.
“My goal is always to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients so they can move forward with confidence and focus on their future.”
TSP principal Beth Rolton added that Watts is a welcome addition to the Cairns team.
“We’re proud to welcome Gabrielle to our team here in Cairns,” she said.
“Gabrielle’s technical expertise is exceptional, but what really stood out to us is her genuine commitment to people. Her knowledge and empathetic approach are of great value to us as a firm and the clients we serve.”
TSP has 24 lawyers across its five offices in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Cairns, and Innisfail.
