Australian mid-tier law firm HopgoodGanim has strengthened its technology leadership by appointing an experienced technology executive as its new CIO.
Andrew Wedding (pictured) has joined HopgoodGanim Lawyers as its new chief information officer (CIO), taking the reins of the firm’s technology strategy as it continues to ramp up its focus on artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
Bringing more than two decades of experience to the role, Wedding has an extensive track record of leading technology operations, transformation and service delivery across technology consulting and large-scale enterprise environments.
In the role, Wedding will take the helm of HopgoodGanim’s technology function, overseeing infrastructure, operations, support and security to ensure the firm continues to provide a reliable, secure, and high-performing technology environment for its clients and people.
He will also spearhead the firm’s ongoing adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies alongside its legal technology team, with a focus on driving greater efficiency and enhancing the delivery of legal services.
In a statement, the firm said Wedding’s appointment reinforces its ongoing commitment to technology, operational excellence, and information security, as it continues to strengthen its digital capabilities.
HopgoodGanim COO and CFO Graeme Johnson said Wedding would play a central role in advancing the firm’s technology capabilities, as it harnesses innovation to enhance client service, drive operational performance, and empower its people.

Wedding’s appointment follows a 10-month engagement with the mid-tier firm, where he initially joined as a consultant before stepping into the role of interim CIO.
During that time, Johnson said Wedding gained a strong understanding of the firm’s operations, people and strategic priorities, ultimately positioning him as the “standout choice” to take on the role permanently.
