The firm announced the appointment of Chris Wille today (4 June).

This brings the partner count in the Brisbane office to 15.

Wille has acted on a number of high-profile property transactions and advises institutional property investors, developers and other clients in property acquisitions, disposals, and in development and commercial and retail leasing.

He acknowledged that property lawyers are facing various challenges in the current economic climate but that, with a full service approach, strategic advice and reviewing procedure and practice in commodity work, there are still good opportunities for property lawyers.

“Technical expertise and innovative thinking are vital in order to face these challenges,” said Wille.

“In my new role I will be able to demonstrate my experience in leading a team of lawyers and paralegals overseeing the day-to-day leasing work for some of Australia's major property owners, managers and tenants.”

Property and projects group leader in Brisbane, Michael Byrom, welcomed Wille’s arrival.

“Chris brings to the team plenty of skills as a property lawyer, a significant amount of energy and enthusiasm and I believe he will be well liked by clients and staff alike … Clients like sincerity and he’s got that in spades,” said Byrom.
