Formerly a partner with Kemp Strang and, before that, Mallesons Stephen Jacques (now King & Wood Mallesons), Robertson will be based in M+K’s Sydney office.

Robertson provides mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and contract-related advice to a wide range of mid-sized listed public companies, with particular expertise in areas regulated by the Corporations Act and ASX-listing rules.

He acknowledged that companies were currently experiencing tough market conditions, largely as a result of investor caution prompted by marketplace volatility and the continued lack of clarity regarding Europe’s future. However, Robertson said that over the last five months the Australian mid-sized market had clearly picked up.

“There are a series of well-priced acquisition opportunities emerging and companies with a good story to tell are now able to raise capital and pursue those opportunities,” said Robertson.

Senior associate Caroline Martin has also joined M+K from Kemp Strang.
