Black joins former Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Peter Shergold AC, on the firm’s board. Shergold was appointed as an external director in June 2009. The new board member is currently the master of Ormond College and a principal fellow in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, and chair of the Board of Teach for Australia. An ethicist, theologian and strategic advisor, he writes and works on ethical and public policy issues. Prior to becoming Master of Ormond, Rufus worked at McKinsey & Company for nine years, where he was a partner and played leadership roles in the firm’s Asia Pacific practise. Corrs partner and chairman of the Board, John Kelly, said Black’s knowledge of cultural change programs and expertise in ethical and public policy will be an asset to the business. “We are very pleased to have been able to attract him to our Board. His knowledge and expertise adds an external point of view of the highest calibre.” Black’s appointment to the Corrs board commences in October 2010 and is for a three year term.
