LAW firm Blake Dawson has appointed a Gilbert + Tobin partner to its corporate practice in Sydney.

Jason Lambeth, a mergers and acquisitions lawyer, has moved across from G+T where he was since 2007.

The hire is a coup for Blake Dawson, with Lambeth’s experience at his former firm including the GrainCorp proposed merger with AWB, as well as Westpac’s Banking Corporation’s $47 billion merger with St George Bank.

Lambeth has also advised clients including Pacific Equity Partners, the Lion Group and the Photon Group. It has not been revealed which clients Lambeth will be bringing across from his former firm.

Lambeth has also worked on Takeover's Panel proceedings, acquisitions and disposals of private companies and businesses, joint ventures and corporate governance matters.

Corporate Practice Leader Nick Terry said of the appointment: "Jason is a first class lawyer and we are delighted that he will be adding to the strength of our M&A team."
