Freehills has promoted two senior associates, Julian Lincoln from its corporate practice and Phillip McMahon from banking, to the partnership from the beginning of next year.

Although the firm traditionally appoints the bulk of new partners mid-year, it confirmed the promotions this week reflecting the growing demand by clients for their skills in both practice areas.

Lincoln’s practice is focussed on technology, outsourcing and intellectual property in Melbourne. McMahon, a banking and finance lawyer in the Brisbane office, will service the growing Queensland banking market.

Gavin Bell, Freehills CEO, said the appointments reflect a strong outlook in their areas of expertise.

“[The appointments] will help us continue to provide our clients with the best service and legal talent possible,” said Bell.
