Corrs Chambers Westgarth has today announced the appointment of a Brisbane partner from law firm Freehills.

Joanna Glynn has joined Corrs as a partner in its Brisbane office in its workplace relations practice.

She joins the firm from Freehills, where she was a partner and more recently Executive Counsel after returning from parental leave.

She has more than 17 years experience in industrial relations and employment law and previously worked for the Queensland Mining Council in a senior industrial relations role, the firm announced today.

The new recruit's experience crosses all areas of industrial relations, employment law, discrimination and OHS, Corrs said today.

She has worked on significant disputes in the electricity and coal mining sectors, prominent test cases under the Fair Work Act, and devised industrial strategies for significant Queensland greenfield and brownfield projects.  She is also regularly sought after by boards and senior management on senior executive issues.

She has particular experience with significant clients in the LNG and mining industries, utilities and electricity generators, financial institutions, and government owned corporations and councils.
