Sydney-based law firm Colin Biggers & Paisley has recruited Adrian Howie from specialist insurance law firm Kennedys.

The new man arrives in time for the firm’s merger with Melbourne firm Monahan + Rowell on 1 June 2012.

As it made the hire announcement this week, the firm said it is looking to grow further. Howie is the CBP’s second partner recruit from an international firm in the last month.

CBP senior partner Chris Rumore said the firm’s five year strategy involves developing the firm's focus in insurance, construction, property and litigation.

Howie began his career with Minter Ellison in 1976. He later became partner and lead the firm’s Sydney Insurance practice. He joined Kennedys in 2006.

Howie said his clients have backed his move, and he suggested he intended to bring them across to the new firm.

He said the firm “is already one of the leading insurance firms”, and that the merger with Monahan + Rowell will consolidate that.
