“The continued growth and broadening of our insolvency work from the Adelaide and inter-state markets has provided the impetus for this new appointment,” said James Neate, head of insolvency and credit management at Lynch Meyer.
“We needed the extra fire power at partner level and Mike is an impressive operator. He is technical, tactical and tenacious, with an aptitude for large-scale and complex litigation.”
Before coming to Australia, Hayes was a partner in a South African law firm where he litigated for large banks and financial institutions.
He has a Master in Commercial Law and serves on the committee of the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association SA/NT Division. He is also qualified in multiple jurisdictions, including South Africa and England.
“I thrive on challenges and on meeting the expectations of clients. I understand commercial risk and that clients want advice on the best possible options,” said Hayes.
