Sherman, who left KWM in 2009, will return to the firm in July, four years after he took up a partnership position at Bakers in Sydney. Tim Blue, managing partner of corporate M&A and tax at KWM, labelled Sherman as an “outstanding lawyer”.

“His appointment reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to inject new talent and our strategic focus on deepening our first class tax expertise for the benefit of our clients,” he said.

Late last year KWM poached Bakers’ head of global private equity, Mark McNamara, who is also based in Sydney.
