Hicksons Lawyers has made two promotions to partner in its insurance team.

Karen Kumar and Najeh Marhaba (pictured) were both promoted to partner at the start of July.

Kumar joined Hicksons in 2011 as a special counsel with 13 years’ experience in the health sector. She represents health professionals and hospitals in civil, coronial and disciplinary matters. Prior to joining Hicksons, Kumar spent time in private legal practice as well as in-house with insurers.

Marhaba joined Hicksons in 2010 as an associate and was then promoted to senior associate. He has 10 years’ experience managing complex matters for insurers and statutory fund managers, government agencies and large employer clients.

The firm also appointed Clare Campbell as senior associate, as well as appointing Melissa Asimus, Phillipa Richards and Tannie Kwong as associates.
