Ruth Stringer (pictured) from Lander & Rogers and Nathan Hodge from Minter Ellison have been appointed to KWM’s superannuation practice.

Stringer was a partner at Landers for two years and, prior to that, a partner at Ashurst for five years. She had previously spent a decade at Minters, where she established a superannuation practice and was a founding member of the firm’s funds management practice.

Hodge was a special counsel at Minters and has acted for superannuation trustees and service providers on a range of superannuation matters, including strategic regulatory advice, product innovation, investments and structuring.

KWM lost a high-profile financial services partner earlier this year. Lawyers Weekly exclusively revealed in January that Michelle Levy and three other lawyers were set to leave the firm for Allens.

The first half of the year has also seen KWM drop a pair of energy & resources partners – Paul Lingard, who defected to Clifford Chance, and Daniel Kirk, who joined Lavan Legal’s corporate services practice in Perth – along with IP heavyweights Wayne McMaster and Robert Cooper, who both moved to Minters.

KWM has, however, made a number of lateral partner hires in 2014.

The firm appointed real estate and infrastructure partner Chris Mitchell from Ashurst in February and, in January, hired energy & resources partner Shaun McRobert from Norton Rose Fulbright and tax partner Michael Perez from Allens.
