Andrew Klein has joined independent law firm Hall & Wilcox in Canberra as a partner.

With 15 years of experience, Klein has advised and represented Commonwealth government clients across the areas of employment litigation, workplace investigations, and strategic workplace matters.

Klein has built a strong reputation in the Canberra market and has longstanding relationships across key departments and agencies.

The appointment comes after Hall & Wilcox recently added a cyber partner to its Sydney office, in response to the increasingly complex cyber and technology environment.

In what has been a big year of promotions for Hall & Wilcox, earlier this year the firm elevated 72 staff across its national practice, including three new partners, 19 special counsel, and 36 senior associates.

Klein joined Hall & Wilcox following two years as a partner at Holding Redlich, where he provided strategic and complex workplace relations advice to Commonwealth departments and agencies.

Speaking on the appointment of Klein, Hall & Wilcox chief executive partner Graydon Dowd highlighted the combination of specialist employment expertise and vast experience working with government would strengthen the firm’s offering to Commonwealth clients.

“Andrew understands the particular challenges government clients face and brings the practical and client-focused approach we value at Hall & Wilcox,” Dowd said.

“That experience will be an asset to clients navigating complex employment-related matters.

“His appointment also creates opportunities to bring together our employment expertise with the broader capabilities of our national government practice, while continuing to build our team on the ground in Canberra.”

On joining Hall & Wilcox, Klein highlighted the reputable nature of the firm as a key factor in joining.

“I am very happy and excited to be joining Hall & Wilcox and its strong, highly regarded national employment practice,” Klein said.

“I particularly look forward to contributing to the continuing growth of the firm’s work with the Commonwealth government.”

Klein commenced on 6 October at Hall & Wilcox, based in the Canberra office, as one of the 155 partners across eight offices nationwide.
