DLA Piper adds to partnership
DLA Piper has appointed a new finance and project lawyer to its partnership.
The global law firm has recruited David Lyons as its newest partner, who takes to the firm’s Brisbane office.

Mr Lyons joins DLA Piper from Herbert Smith Freehills. Prior to HSF, he was employed by Norton Rose Fulbright.
According to a statement from DLA, Mr Lyons brings to his new role experience in traditional transactional and strategic advisory matters, having acted for a range of financial services clients buying and selling portfolios and businesses.
Additionally, the firm noted he has a strong network in Australia and around the globe and has assisted clients moving into Asia, Europe as well as North and South America. He also has a long standing interest in trade and investment with Asia, and has been a board member of the Australia China Business Council, the firm’s statement said.
“Globally our finance practice is one of the world leaders and with additions such as David our team is going from strength to strength in Australia,” said DLA Piper Australia head of finance projects and restructuring Onno Bakker.
