Litigation, disputes and risk management lawyer Scott Castledine joins as the firm’s newest partner, having previously practised at top-tier and Magic Circle firms in Australia and overseas.

Mr Castledine was previously a counsel at Clifford Chance – and has over 15 years of domestic and international experience acting for major multinational corporates, investment and retail banks, funds, leading private companies, governments, professional services firms, insurers and company directors, often in relation to high-profile, corporate-threatening or reputational disputes. His practice spans the full spectrum of contentious disciplines, including complex commercial litigation (including class actions) in all major Australian jurisdictions, arbitration, regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings and contentious insolvency work.

Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Tembel confirmed Mr Castledine would be joining the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution team.

I am excited to have Scott joining us in the Sydney office,” he said.

“He is a very competent litigator who brings a wealth of experience working in Australia and previously in London where he trained and practiced at leading Magic Circle firm, Slaughter and May, for several years.”

Mr Castledine said he is delighted to be joining Thomson Geer as a partner in its disputes team at the end of this month.

“Thomson Geer is a firm with a fine history and one with a clarity of purpose as to its future. I very much look forward to joining the team and contributing to that journey,” he said.
