The unparalleled awards program identifies those who work tirelessly to propel the Australian legal industry forward and offers individuals career advancement. It is the pinnacle event for celebrating talent across the industry, including managing partners, general counsel, barristers, legal scholars, and rising stars.

The awards allow firms to distinguish themselves in the industry and enhance their ability to attract and retain the greatest talent while strengthening their position when winning and retaining business.

This year, Corrs Chambers Westgarth won the Excellence Award after the firm was named Property Team of the Year earlier in the evening.

Hive Legal won two group awards at the awards ceremony, while Herbert Smith Freehills and Gilbert + Tobin won both a group and individual award each.

A well-respected panel of judges determined the winners of the 2022 Australian Law Awards.

In his address to the legal professionals at the awards ceremony, Lawyers Weekly editor Jerome Doraisamy congratulated the winners and noted that the legal industry has continued to raise the benchmark for excellence.

Mr Doraisamy said: “The annual Australian Law Awards is, undoubtedly, the biggest and best celebration of legal talent across the country. It is Lawyers Weekly’s great honour to be able to host such festivities.

“Congratulations to all of tonight’s finalists and winners. You are the industry leaders of today and tomorrow, and you should feel immensely proud of all that you have accomplished.”
