At the end of the evening, the highest-scoring winner will be the recipient of the prestigious Women in Law Excellence Award.

The 2022 finalists span the breadth of the law profession, including partners, barristers, general counsel, in-house counsel, chief executive officers, principals, general managers, solicitors, legal assistants, and marketing specialists.

The national Women in Law Awards program celebrates excellence, as well as the hard work and dedication of the leading women in the legal profession, while showcasing their talents and achievements and presenting an opportunity for them to attract more clients and propel their careers.

For organisations, winning an award in the group category will distinguish them from their peers and competitors when attracting and retaining talent, which is crucial in the current labour market.

The awards are peer-reviewed by a panel of well-respected judges, who will recognise those women who have demonstrated their passion to drive the legal profession forward.

Lawyers Weekly looks forward to rewarding the best of the best in the profession, including executives, students, pro bono, and many more.

The black-tie gala ceremony is also an opportunity for the legal industry to network with their peers and revel in their successes and achievements over what has been a challenging couple of years.

Speaking ahead of the event, Lawyers Weekly editor Jerome Doraisamy congratulated all the finalists on their achievements.

“Recognising the women that make up the legal profession in Australia remains of critical importance in the current landscape, and Lawyers Weekly is honoured to be able to do so at this event,” he said.

“We wish all finalists the very best of luck, and we can’t wait to celebrate with them on the night.”

Lawyers Weekly would like to thank our partners for their invaluable support, including principal partner Leo Cussen Centre for Law, gold partner LOD, diversity partner LEAP, event partners Cyber Security Connect, HR Leader, and TIMG, supporting partner the Women of Australian Legal Technology Association, philanthropic partner So They Can, and charity partner Invictus Australia.

The Women in Law Awards will be held on Thursday, 24 November 2022, at Grand Hyatt in Melbourne.
