Nicola Clayton (pictured) has joined Lander & Rogers, with the firm noting that she will “play a pivotal role” in further expanding its finance and projects capabilities and supporting its rapidly growing transactions business.

The news follows the firm’s promotion of 35 lawyers to more senior roles in early June, as well as its hiring of a commercial disputes partner from global firm Norton Rose Fulbright in early May.

In a statement, Landers said that Ms Clayton’s career, over more than two decades, has seen her provide structuring, strategic and risk management advice on multimillion-dollar finance transactions across a range of industry sectors, with a strong focus on real estate finance.

Ms Clayton said: “There is a real sense of energy and a clear strategic vision within the firm.

“Joining Lander & Rogers represents the perfect opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of lawyers, and to leverage our combined strengths to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

“I am thrilled to be an integral part of the firm’s growth strategy and look forward to working with our clients to help them achieve success and, in particular, to navigate the challenges brought about by the current economic conditions.”

Lander & Rogers’ corporate practice head in Sydney, David Morris, added: “As the market continues to evolve, our clients require legal advisors who can navigate complex transactions and provide strategic counsel tailored to their specific needs.

“Importantly, Nicola has a long history of executing market-leading deals with some of the most respected names in real estate and private equity, but equally has deep experience in advising in the mid-market. This positions Nicola perfectly to assist our clients with their financing needs.”

And Landers national corporate practice group leader Jackie Solakovski said: “Nicola is widely recognised as a leading banking and finance lawyer.

“She will add great strength and capability to our transactions practice, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the firm.”
