Mitchell Osborne (pictured) has joined Dentons, having come over from AJ & Co Lawyers in Brisbane, where he was a partner.

Mr Osborne brings, Dentons said in a statement, more than 15 years of experience in environment and planning law. He acts for developers, landowners, local and state government authorities, and submitters across a broad range of planning, development and environmental matters in the Planning and Environment Court.

He is also a qualified town planner.

The news follows the firm’s addition of a new corporate partner in late September, as well as the calling off of its combination with Chinese firm Dacheng in the wake of government mandates on legal practices, back in August.

Speaking about the appointment, Dentons Australia chair and Australasia regional chief executive Doug Stipanicev said that Mr Osborne will complement the firm’s existing property and construction practices and add strength to the rapidly growing Brisbane office.

“I am delighted to welcome Mitchell to Dentons. Mitchell’s appointment is a welcome addition to our Brisbane office, as well as our planning and environment team more broadly,” he said.

“Mitchell’s experience will be of great benefit to our clients in Queensland, particularly given the Olympic infrastructure projects currently underway.”

Mr Osborne added: “This is a very exciting time to be joining Dentons, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the growth of the Brisbane office.”
