Johnson Winter Slattery, which has over 450 staff and more than 80 partners nationally, has grown its partnership ranks with the appointment of four practitioners to partner.

The new partners are Tom Barrett (energy and resources, Perth), Kate Naude (corporate, M&A & ECM, Sydney), Andrew Pearce (corporate, M&A and PE, Sydney), and Andrew Ricciardi (corporate, M&A, Perth).

The promotions are effective as of 1 July.

The news follows a string of partner appointments for JWS this year.

In late May, it took a restructuring and insolvency partner from Clayton Utz; in March, it hired an energy and resources partner from DLA Piper; and in February, it added a safety partner from Clyde & Co.

The news also follows the firm entering into an alliance with Japanese BigLaw firm TMI Associates in March, through which the two firms will refer work to each other to service global clients.

Speaking about the promotions, JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said: “Our new partners specialise in corporate, M&A, ECM and energy and resources – areas in which JWS is proud to have a leading reputation in the market.

“We are delighted to build on that reputation through the addition of four outstanding new partners.”

The firm plans to unveil its new special counsel and senior associates later this week.
