Gadens has expanded its Queensland workplace practice with the appointment of Andrew Rich (pictured) as a partner in its workplace advisory and disputes group.

The addition of Rich to Gadens’ partnership ranks lifts the firm’s national partner count to 112.

Before joining the national law firm, Rich spent more than 17 years at multinational firm Slater & Gordon, where he served as a principal lawyer before being promoted to head of the firm’s national industrial and employment law practice.

Rich brings more than 25 years of experience to the firm, spanning private practice, union advocacy, and senior leadership, as well as time spent practising as a barrister in both NSW and Queensland.

Reflecting on his appointment, Rich explained that he was drawn to Gadens for its national presence, inclusive and collaborative culture, and the wealth of opportunities it offers for professional growth.

“Choosing to join Gadens in Brisbane was a straightforward decision for me. The firm offers incredible growth opportunities, a truly national team, and fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture,” Rich said.

“I continue to be impressed by the calibre and reputation of my colleagues and the clients of the firm – it’s an exciting time to join the workplace advisory and disputes team and to work alongside my fellow partners and the firm’s valued clients.”

Siobhan Mulcahy, Gadens partner and co-leader of the workplace advisory and disputes group, shared how Rich’s appointment aligns with the firm’s mission and will further strengthen the team’s capabilities in Queensland.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to the firm and the partnership; his expertise aligns seamlessly with our group’s mission to assist and advise our clients in the ever-evolving landscape of workplace law,” Mulcahy said.

“Andrew is an experienced and talented industrial and workplace relations lawyer who brings a wealth of experience to the firm and will assist the team in bolstering our current offering in Queensland.”

This news follows the firm’s appointment of three seasoned partners to its corporate team in late August, the promotion of six to partnership at the end of June, and the addition of two partners earlier this year.
