Peter Kennedy has been welcomed to Mills Oakleys banking and finance team, based in Brisbane.

Mr Kennedy holds three decades’ worth of experience, having built up an impressive practice advising financiers and corporate borrowers on lending transactions, receivables financing transactions, receiverships and enforcement of securities.

He joins from McCullough Robertson where he spent the last 15 years. Prior to this, he held senior management roles in both national and independent law firms, including at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst).

Mills Oakley chief executive John Nerurker said the appointment of Mr Kennedy comes at an opportune time.

“Brisbane has consistently been one of our fastest growing offices and has maintained momentum even through the pandemic,” he said.

“In Peter, we are fortunate to have secured an experienced and respected expert who can help us meet enhanced client demand in the banking and finance sector.”

Commenting on his new role, Mr Kennedy said: “Culture is the cornerstone of any law firm. It is what dictates the quality of client service and the level of respect which partners and staff show each other. I was always impressed with my interactions with Mills Oakley in the market and this was a major factor in my decision to join.

I am delighted to be part of this dynamic national firm.
