The firm has hired John Douglas as a special counsel, Cammie Lee as a senior associate, and Zac Ramli as a paralegal. Mr Douglas and Mr Ramli will take to Colin Biggers & Paisley’s Sydney office in their new roles, while Ms Lee has joined the firm’s Melbourne office.

Mr Douglas brings vast expertise in commercial property law, having specialised in commercial, industrial and retail leasing matters, as well as property acquisition and disposal matters. He rejoins Colin Biggers & Paisley after heading up Douglas Legal as principal.

Meanwhile, Ms Lee joins Colin Biggers & Paisley with a background in acting on complex property transactions, including significant property subdivisions for land and build-form property, the acquisition and sale of commercial and residential properties, and the project financing of residential and land developments, a statement from the firm said.

Prior to joining Colin Biggers & Paisley, Ms Lee worked at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers.

Colin Biggers & Paisley partner and national head of property and development Rhett Oliver welcomed the trio, noting their appointments are part of the practice’s focus on delivering “the best end-to-end property and development solutions across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney”.

“We are extremely pleased to see John and Zac return to the practice and to welcome Cammie to the team,” Mr Oliver said.

“I am confident in our position in the market, providing exceptional legal service focusing on the complete property development life cycle. This offering sets us apart from other service providers in the market. John’s expertise in leasing, coupled with his sales and disposal experience, complements our offering in Sydney perfectly.”

Commenting on his return to the firm, Mr Douglas said: “I am delighted to be back at Colin Biggers & Paisley. The technical expertise of the team, the varied and interesting work along with the collaborative culture of the team made it an easy decision for me to come back.

“The growth of the practice over the last year has been incredible, and I am pleased to be joining a practice that is in a strong position to provide exceptional service to clients.”

Ms Lee’s experience in property and banking and finance ensures she is delivering advice that is centred on sound commercial and financial outcomes.

Also commenting on her new role at Colin Biggers & Paisley, Ms Lee said: “The property and development team has a strong reputation in the market and advises some of the largest private developers in Australia. We have a number of significant projects in the pipeline, and I am excited to be joining Colin Biggers & Paisley during a time of continued growth.”
