Melbourne-based firm Madgwicks Lawyers has celebrated its 50th anniversary, which the firm said is a significant milestone.
After formally commencing operations in Melbourne in 1975, Madgwicks Lawyers has, this month, celebrated 50 years of being in business, growing from two founding partners to now 80 staff.
This news comes after the firm added a new principal from Velocity Legal, as well as promoted two special counsel and one associate, earlier this month.
The firm, founded by Peter Kennedy and Graeme Levy, started out as an offshoot of the Sydney-based firm Madgwick and Madgwick.
Managing partner Warren Madgwick provided guidance and mentorship to Kennedy and Levy, before the pair bought the Melbourne arm of Madgwick and Madgwick, establishing Madgwicks Lawyers.
The firm celebrated with clients on 1 July and held an internal celebration on 4 July.
“As we reflect on our journey, we take great pride in the strong foundations we’ve built. The original vision and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to inspire our entire firm,” founding member and principal Peter Kennedy said.
“Looking ahead, we remain deeply dedicated to our clients, to upholding the highest standards of legal practice and to nurturing the next generation of legal talent.”
