Lavan has announced a series of promotions, elevating four to special counsel, three to senior associate, and eight to associate, effective 1 January 2026.

The full-service firm stated that the promotions reflect its continued growth and its strengthening position as a leading law firm in Western Australia.

The latest promotions span eight distinct practice areas across the firm, including property and leasing, restructuring, disputes and insolvency, family and private clients, and deals.

Those who were promoted to special counsel include Kealeigh Barker (property and leasing), James Barret (restructuring, disputes and insolvency), Dragana Blackwood (family and private clients), and Jordan Grapsas (deals).

The lawyers who have been elevated to senior associate positions are Jack Hely (property and leasing), Ben Kruize (deals) and Genevieve Mascarenhas (employment, safety and education).

The seven lawyers that were promoted to associate roles include Isabel Bartle (planning, environment and land compensation), Mitchell Davis (restructuring, disputes and insolvency), Linda Diep (restructuring, disputes and insolvency), Jackson Flematti (restructuring, disputes and insolvency), Andrew Freeman (dispute resolution and investigations), Annie Harfoushian (dispute resolution and investigations), Niamh Rooney (construction and infrastructure), and Lowri White (family and private clients).

Dean Hely, managing partner at Lavan, said the firm was proud to recognise the hard work and dedication of its lawyers, noting that the promotions acknowledge both their professional growth and the value they bring to clients and the broader West Australian legal community.

“We are pleased to recognise so many of our people for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the firm, and we are proud to see them continue to grow and develop as lawyers within the Western Australian community,” Hely said.

“On behalf of the partners and the wider firm, I extend our warmest congratulations to our well-deserving colleagues on their promotions.

“Each of these talented lawyers brings meaningful value to the firm and helps ensure our clients continue to receive exceptional legal services.”

This news follows the Perth-based firm promoting four lawyers and appointing seven others in the middle of 2025.
