Effective March 2022, Momentum Media’s market-leading brand Lawyers Weekly will be headed up by Jerome Doraisamy.

Mr Doraisamy has been deputy editor of Lawyers Weekly since 2020 and replaces Emma Ryan, who has taken on the role of managing editor at Momentum Media.

Throughout his time at the brand, Mr Doraisamy has headed up The Lawyers Weekly Podcast Network, which comprises The Lawyers Weekly Show, The Corporate Counsel Show, The Boutique Lawyer Show and the newly launched LawTech Talks and Legal Lightbulbs.

Passionate about delivering quality content across multiple channels, Mr Doraisamy has helped launch several key summits and award programs to the Lawyers Weekly database, including Pride in Law, and kicked off Momentum’s first-ever Masterclass series during the pandemic.

He holds bachelor’s degrees in both law and communications from the University of Technology, Sydney and is an admitted solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW.

Mr Doraisamy is supported in his new role by director William Magee, journalist Lauren Croft, media strategist Rory Fitzgerald and partnership manager Angelika Nieweglowski.

Momentum Media managing editor Emma Ryan congratulated Mr Doraisamy on his new role.

“Having worked with Jerome for a number of years, I can attest to his tenacity in delivering outstanding content via all multimedia channels,” Ms Ryan said.

“The legal profession has seen tremendous change over the past two years, and I’m excited to witness the continued evolution of the brand under Jerome’s stewardship.

“I have every confidence he will do an exemplary job.”

Commenting on his new role, Mr Doraisamy said:

“Lawyers Weekly is the biggest and most respected legal publication in the country, covering all demographics of the profession. At a time of significant ongoing challenges for practitioners of all stripes, it is especially pertinent that trade media provide timely, relevant and practical content for its audience. We strive, every day, to do this for legal professionals. I am thrilled to take over this challenge,” he said.

“I also want to thank the outgoing editor, Emma Ryan, for her extraordinary contribution to the legal profession over the past five years. Emma has left very big shoes to fill, and I can only hope to live up to her legacy.”
