30 Under 30 Awards winners unveiled for 2025

A total of 30 winners have been selected out of over 280 finalists at this year’s 30 Under 30 Awards.

Legal professionals celebrated achievement tonight (Thursday, 6 March) for the annual 30 Under 30 Awards at The Star, Sydney, hosted with the support of principal partner Taylor Root.

Since its inception 13 years ago, the 30 Under 30 Awards has celebrated the immense talent across Australia’s legal young guns.

Members of the legal profession gathered to celebrate the achievements of colleagues and peers while networking with industry experts.

A total of 286 legal young guns battled it out as finalists for the prestigious awards program, with 30 worthy winners being crowned at the black-tie gala ceremony.

The awards celebrated rising stars across 30 submissions-based categories spanning banking and finance, commercial, competition, trade, and regulation, dispute resolution and litigation, legal operations, planning and environment, real estate, and technology.

Some of the winners include Rachael Farrell of Gadens for banking and finance, Jerry Li of University Chambers for barrister, Maddie Marchant of BBC Studios Australia for corporate counsel (SME), Francis Caesar Devine of Conditsis Lawyers for criminal, and Caitlyn Bellis of Herbert Smith Freehills for cyber security.

The emcee, Tom Ballard, an Australian comedian, broadcaster, actor, and writer, brought light and laughter throughout the evening.

For more than a decade, Lawyers Weekly has brought the legal profession the unparalleled 30 Under 30 Awards program to recognise the country’s rising stars for their dedication and outstanding achievements early in their legal careers.

Winners were selected using quantitative and qualitative judging criteria, which acknowledged growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s legal sector.
