In a statement, Whittingham said: “I am delighted to join the highly regarded team at Keypoint Law and look forward to growing the firm’s corporate and transactional practice.”

Whittingham has experience advising on public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, corporate restructurings, commercial contracts, foreign investment regulations, and general corporate advisory matters.

He has acted on numerous transactions, including the Vodafone-TPG Telecom merger, the restructuring of Snack Brands Australia, the sale of Basiq to Cuscal Limited, the acquisition of Spotless by Pacific Equity Partners, and the sale of TelstraClear to Vodafone.

Whittingham was a former special counsel at international law firm K&L Gates – he also spent time in senior roles at Norton Rose Fulbright and Gilbert + Tobin, advising major corporations, private capital firms, and high-growth businesses across diverse industries.

Chief executive of the firm, Warren Kalinko, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the firm. With a proven track record acting on complex corporate transactions, and the trust of some of Australia’s most prominent brands, Andrew brings exceptional expertise and a pragmatic approach that will be invaluable to our clients and the firm as a whole.”

This news follows the firm’s hire of a former KPMG lawyer as new consulting principal last month, its appointment of a new charities and not-for-profits consulting principal in August, its addition of a new restructuring insolvency consulting principal in the same month, and its appointment of a new financial services consulting principal in May.
