BigLaw firm MinterEllison has appointed a new chief people officer, whose former employers include Westpac, AMP, Macquarie Group, Capgemini, and Telstra.
Rachel Banks (pictured) has been appointed as the new CPO at Minters and commenced in her new role yesterday (Monday, 10 November).
She is, the BigLaw firm said in a statement, a dynamic people executive with deep experience leading cultural and organisational change across ASX-listed and global companies, whose leadership has shaped major transformation programs in complex environments.
The appointment comes at a “pivotal time” for the firm, it continued, as it enters the next phase of its AI strategy.
Banks has previously served in senior people and culture or human resources roles at FleetPartners, Westpac, AMP, BankWest, Macquarie Group, Telstra, and Capgemini.
The appointment follows the firm’s naming of 12 new partners and promotion of 161 lawyers earlier this year, as well as the firm’s recent formation of an AI advisory team.
Speaking about the appointment, Minters COO Alissa Anderson said: “Rachel brings a strong track record in building culture, capability, and talent to lift organisational effectiveness. Her evidence-led and outcomes-focused approach to developing and evolving people and cultural strategies will be instrumental in delivering our strategy.
“As we continue to invest in excellence and innovation across the firm, Rachel’s leadership will be key to fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture that supports our people and drives long-term impact.”
Banks said: “I’m excited to be joining MinterEllison at a time of significant momentum and ambition. The firm’s strong focus on attracting and developing exceptional talent, alongside its leading-edge position on AI and digital technologies, creates a unique opportunity to shape the way we work in a way that empowers our people and enhances the value we deliver to clients.
“I look forward to working with such a talented and dedicated team of talent professionals across MinterEllison and contributing to the firm’s culture of excellence and continued success.”
