Lawyers Weekly and principal partner legalsuper are delighted to announce over 250 finalists for this year’s Women in Law Awards.
A total of 266 finalists have been shortlisted in the 15th annual Women in Law Awards 2026.
Run in partnership with principal partner legalsuper, the Women in Law Awards champions the influential women leading Australia’s legal profession.
For over a decade, this premier awards program for Australian women lawyers has celebrated the best of the best in the business of law, spotlighting executives, barristers, academics, operations professionals, law students, and more.

An incredible 815 submissions were received for this year’s iteration of the awards, demonstrating the breadth of excellence across the professional services spectrum in the past 12 months.

Lawyers Weekly managing editor Jerome Doraisamy said: “It is our great pleasure to announce the finalists for this year’s Women in Law Awards.
“For one and a half decades, this awards program has been the premier celebration of women legal professionals Down Under, and it is our honour and privilege to recognise and celebrate with them.”
It is especially thrilling, Doraisamy added, to acknowledge those nominated for the annual Flos Greig Trailblazer Award (presented by event partner Cornwalls, the firm at which Greig, the first woman to practise law in Australia, completed her articles of clerkship).
“Paying tribute to Greig, and all the trailblazers who have followed, is one of the great joys of the Women in Law Awards,” he said.
“Thank you to all of our event partners, especially principal partner legalsuper, without whom events like this would not be possible.

How winners will be decided
The Women in Law Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders, has developed a robust awards methodology to assess, analyse, and benchmark Australia’s leading women legal professionals.
The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s legal profession.
To shortlist finalists, all submissions underwent a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category-specific eligibility criteria based on the information provided in the submission.
A panel of Momentum Media events and editorial team members and executives, plus industry stakeholders where required, reviewed and assessed submissions deemed eligible against the criteria to determine the finalists for each category.
Finalist submissions will now be delivered to a panel of respected professionals and business leaders, who assess each submission against the criteria of each award category.
The judges score each part of the submission against the category’s criteria, then provide an aggregated score. A number of judges will individually assess each submission in each category, offering a blended score and assessment.
The combined judging scores for each submission in each category are tabulated, with the highest-scoring submission deemed the winner.
The winner with the highest score will receive the prestigious Excellence Award.
