Ashley Hill (pictured), a highly experienced commercial litigation and arbitration specialist, has joined Mullins Lawyers as a partner within its commercial litigation team.

With more than 25 years of experience, Hill brings a strong background in handling high-stakes disputes across Australia and internationally.

In a statement, the Queensland-based law firm noted that Hill’s appointment comes as part of its broader strategic growth, which has recently seen the launch of a new family law practice earlier this month.

Admitted in Queensland and the High Court of Australia, he has worked at leading Australian firms, including national firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and spent five years abroad with international firms – Dentons in Dubai and Herbert Smith Freehills in Singapore.

Hill’s extensive practice spans a diverse range of sectors, including mining, oil and gas, aviation, technology, agriculture, insurance, property, and financial services.

Mullins noted that his appointment reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its core service areas as part of a “broader strategy to deepen its offerings across commercial, corporate, and private client legal services”.

Sam McIvor, Mullins’ managing partner, described Hill as “a highly regarded litigator” whose extensive global experience will strengthen the firm’s commercial disputes and arbitration practice.

“Ashley is a formidable highly regarded litigator and a welcome addition to our commercial litigation team - his legal expertise and international experience significantly enhances our capability in commercial disputes and arbitration,” McIvor stated.

“His appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to attracting top legal talent and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.”

This news follows the firm hiring a partner to its property team, who joined from global BigLaw firm Dentons at the end of May, and the promotion of two partners in the same month.
