Holly Sara (pictured) has joined Gilbert + Tobin as a partner in its disputes and investigations team, based at the firm’s Sydney office.

Before joining the national law firm, Sara spent more than 12 years at global law firm Jones Day, where she progressed from associate to partner and spent six years within the firm’s partnership ranks.

With more than a decade of experience in this practice area, Sara brings extensive expertise advising on complex commercial disputes, class actions, and regulatory investigations.

In a statement, the national law firm highlighted that she has acted in multibillion-dollar litigation across a range of sectors, including financial services, healthcare and life sciences, consumer goods, energy and resources, and technology.

She has also advised on high-profile class actions covering shareholder claims, product liability, financial products, unfair contract terms, and ESG-related risks.

Danny Gilbert, co-founder and chairman of Gilbert + Tobin, highlighted that Sara’s expertise and experience in the litigation space will strengthen the firm’s ability to support clients through complex disputes.

“We are delighted to welcome Holly to the partnership. Her energy, ambition and commercial judgement strengthen our ability to support clients in their most significant disputes,” Gilbert said.

“Together with the recent arrival of Daniel Moloney, Holly’s appointment underscores our commitment to being the firm of choice for complex dispute resolution.”

Gilbert added: “Holly will work closely with the broader G+T disputes and investigations team nationally, providing strategic and responsive advice to leading corporates, institutions and boards navigating an increasingly complex risk and regulatory landscape.”

Speaking about her new role, Sara expressed her excitement about joining the firm, highlighting her eagerness to work on the complex, high-profile litigation for which the firm is well known.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Gilbert + Tobin, a firm known for handling the most complex, high-profile litigation in the country. I look forward to working with this outstanding team to help our clients navigate their most challenging disputes and regulatory risks,” Sara said.

This news follows the national law firm’s appointment of a partner to lead its transactional team in early August, the addition of an energy, resources and infrastructure partner at the end of July, and promotion of three to partnership and 10 to special counsel as part of its mid-year promotions round in mid-June.
