Lawyers Weekly is set to recognise legal young guns in the 14th annual 30 Under 30 Awards for 2026.

For more than a decade, the prestigious awards have brought the legal profession an unparalleled awards program that champions top-performing young lawyers across the nation.

The awards are open to all legal professionals aged 30 or under within the 2025 calendar year, ending Tuesday, 31 December 2025.

Submit an entry or nominate a worthy colleague by Friday, 21 November, for a chance to be recognised as a rising star in the legal profession.

Achieving 30 Under 30 status provides finalists and winners with a solid foundation for career growth, offering industry-wide recognition for professional capability while highlighting a strong commitment to the law.

There are 30 categories on offer this year, designed to recognise the full spectrum of the legal profession.

This year’s categories include mergers and acquisitions, barrister, corporate counsel, cyber security, and taxation.

Banking and finance, commercial, trade and regulation, dispute resolution and litigation, legal operations, planning and environment, and technology sectors will also be acknowledged in the awards program.

By entering the awards, young lawyers have the opportunity to gain national recognition and distinguish themselves as rising stars in the legal profession.

Judged by a highly regarded panel of influential professionals, the 30 Under 30 Awards highlight the capabilities of young lawyers and their passion for driving the industry forward.

The 30 Under 30 Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Lawyers Weekly, Momentum Media, and a panel of leading legal professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading professionals aged 30 or under.

All professionals who meet the eligibility criteria from across Australia’s legal profession are encouraged to participate in the awards program.

To shortlist the finalists, all submissions undergo a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category eligibility criteria based on the information provided in the submission. Click here to view the methodology.

Finalists will be revealed on Tuesday, 16 December, so keep an eye out for your name on the list.

The awards will culminate in a black-tie gala on Thursday, 12 March, at The Star.

The ceremony also presents a unique opportunity for members of the legal profession to network with industry leaders and peers while celebrating excellence.
