Moray & Agnew has appointed four new partners: Melissa Kincaid (Melbourne, commercial litigation and dispute resolution), Anthony Lagois (Cairns, property), Vanessa Nicholson (Melbourne, health law), and Kon Tsiakis (Melbourne, commercial litigation and dispute resolution).

The firm has also named two new special counsel: Laura Andersen (Melbourne, life insurance) and Alexandra Cooper (Brisbane, health law).

And it has promoted seven lawyers to senior associate: Maddison Dantu-Hann (Canberra, Australian government), Jessica Fenech (Canberra, Australian government), Nick Forrest (Melbourne, property), Bronte Lerch (Canberra, workers’ compensation), Kate Martin (Canberra, workers’ compensation), Karan Patel (Melbourne, liability), and Ella Zafar (Melbourne, recoveries).

The news follows the firm’s appointment of a partner and two special counsel from BigLaw rivals in late November, its appointment of a new workplace partner earlier that month, its promotion of special counsel to partner in October, its acquisition of Greenwoods Law (Cairns) in July, its appointment of a new national managing partner in June, its promotion of 25 in the same month, its appointment of a new corporate and commercial partner in April, its appointment of a new property partner in March, its appointment of former KPMG director as property partner in January, and its promotion of 17 in the same month.

The promotions are effective as of 1 January 2026.

Speaking about the promotions, Moray & Agnew national manager partner Ian Denham said: “We are delighted to be able to promote this many of our legal team spanning multiple practice areas and locations.

“Their well-deserved promotions reflect the work they have undertaken for our clients and their ongoing contribution to the success of our firm.”
