National law firm promotes 33

A national law firm has announced the elevation of 33 staff across its Australian offices, including four new practice group leaders.

Slater and Gordon has promoted 33 senior legal staff across the country, in recognition of hard work within a range of growing practice areas.

Four new practice group leaders have been announced, as well as the elevation of four lawyers to principal roles. Additionally, 14 have been promoted to senior associate roles and 11 lawyers have been promoted to associate level. 

Slater and Gordon chief executive John Somerville said the past year had been a year like no other, but the way the firm’s people came together to support each other and their clients was extraordinary.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our people continued to demonstrate enormous care for our clients and to work tirelessly to progress our clients’ matters,” he said.

“These promotions reflect the dedication and commitment we have at Slater and Gordon to making tomorrow start today for our clients.”

Andrew Rich has been promoted to national industrial and employment law operations practice group leader, Sarah Snowden has been promoted to lead the super/TPD practice, Eleni Sarian has been elevated to practice group leader in the public liability practice and Kaitlin Ferris will lead the class actions practice.

The four lawyers who have been appointed as Slater and Gordon’s new principals are Jane McCullough, Peter Boyle, Daniel Stojanski and Nimna Rupasinghe.

The newest senior associates at the firm are Kylie Trounson, Victoria Sparks, Joel Gilbourd, Louisa Burke, Gabriella Giunta, Sarah Singh, Michael Raw, Deniz Mirik, Raelene Lingam, Caitlin Lake, Alexandra Agathouli, Paula Pulitano, Jacob Sutton and Briee Rogers.  

Alex Blennerhassett, Nick Williams, Idil Mohamud, Emma Bussoletti, Campbell Woollacott, Audrey Gunn, Sarah Elseidy, Carla Bursich, Sharntelle Roach, Bridie Walsh and Julia Weaver are the newest associates at Slater and Gordon. 

The news follows Sparke Helmore elevating 27 staff, Allens promoting 50 new senior associates and making 24 other senior promotions, Clayton Utz promoting 77 legal, IT and forensic professionals, Thomson Geer elevating 29, Mills Oakley promoting 44, KPMG appointing 17 new partners in its legal teams, Hicksons promoting six to higher positions, national firm Colin Biggers & Paisley moving 10 to senior roles, global firm Baker McKenzie elevating 23, listed firm IPH promoting 35, Meridian Lawyers promoting 12, Corrs Chambers Westgarth adding six partners from MinterEllison, Norton Rose Fulbright elevating 27, MinterEllison promoting 82 to more senior roles, Herbert Smith Freehills promoting 55, Maddocks promoting 47, Wotton + Kearney elevating 34 lawyers as part of their biggest senior promotions round in history, national firm Holding Redlich elevating 45 lawyers across the country, KWM promoting 63 staff, McCullough Robertson elevating 16 to new positions, Moray & Agnew promoting 25 to new roles, Hall & Wilcox promoting 36 to senior roles, Dentons promoting 14 to new positions, and King & Wood Mallesons adding 10 to the partnership ranks.
